These awesome little Mario Kart figures are Gashapon toys from Japan, also known as capsule toys. Unlike most of the little quarter vending machines here in the US, the ones in Japan are a little bit more spendy (1 yen/$1) but at least you get a much higher quality toy. I think I must have spent a good $20 trying to get the complete set while I was there, which at the time, only consisted of Mario, Luigi, Bowser, and Peach. Peach was the stubborn one, and I ended up buying her on ebay for a few bucks, but then they came out with a few more in a second set that I later got as a gift.

I saw this car while driving around Portland one rainy morning. I never really get to see the seasons change to this extreme and seeing this car covered and surrounded by fallen leaves was really a treat to me.
